On 27 June 2026, BMCA supporter Toni Toner will be doing something very special to raise money for Barlow Moor Community Association.

After 14 years, Toni is saying goodbye to her iconic locks in what she is calling "The Big Chop for BMCA."

For Toni, her hair has been much more than a hairstyle. It has been part of her identity, her story and a source of strength through some of life's most difficult moments.

"For 14 years, I've had locks. They've been part of my identity, my story, my strength and honestly, a bit of my armour through some really difficult times."

Through illness, pain, hospital appointments, long days, personal victories and everything in between, Toni's locks have been there with her every step of the way.

Now, she has decided to make a change that means something beyond herself.

With the support of TINY's in Sale Moor, Toni will be having her locks cut off to raise vital funds for BMCA and the work we do across our community.

Why BMCA?

Every day, BMCA supports local people through practical help, community activities and a welcoming place to belong.

The funds raised will help us continue to:

✓ Support families through difficult times

✓ Provide warmth and practical help during winter

✓ Offer meals and food support when people need it most

✓ Create safe spaces where young people can learn, grow and connect

✓ Bring people together and strengthen our community

As Toni explains:

"BMCA helps families stay warm in winter. It feeds people when times are hard. It creates safe spaces for young people to grow, connect and just be. It brings community back to life where it's needed most."
