Barlow Moor Community Association (BMCA) runs The Julie Mrozek Community Centre, a welcoming hub at the heart of Chorlton.
Our centre is a place where people come together to find support, share experiences and build stronger connections. Every week we provide meals, practical help, learning opportunities and social activities for people of all ages.
For some people, we are a place to meet friends and take part in community activities. For others, we are a lifeline during difficult times.
Whatever brings someone through our doors, they are welcomed with dignity, kindness and respect.
At the heart of Barlow Moor Community Hub are the people who walk through our doors every day. Our centre is shaped by the experiences, needs and ideas of the local community. From young children and families to older residents and people facing difficult circumstances, we aim to create a space where everyone feels they belong.
Many of the activities, groups and services we offer have grown directly from conversations with local residents. By listening to our community and working alongside partners, volunteers and supporters, we continue to develop programmes that respond to real needs and help people feel connected, supported and valued.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple.
To reduce poverty, tackle isolation and build a stronger community for everyone in Barlow Moor and the surrounding areas.
We do this by providing practical support, accessible services and welcoming spaces where people feel safe, supported and valued.
Every day our team and volunteers work to ensure that no one in our community feels alone or without help when they need it.

Our Team
Our work is delivered by a dedicated team of staff and supported by a committed Board of Trustees who provide oversight, guidance and governance.
Together with our volunteers, they ensure the centre remains a welcoming, safe and effective place for the community. Many of our team members and volunteers have personal connections to the centre and the community, which helps shape the supportive and inclusive environment we are proud of.
Our Values
Everything we do is guided by a small set of core values that shape how we support our community.
Community
We believe strong communities are built when people come together, and feel a sense of belonging.
Dignity
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and understanding, regardless of their circumstances.
Compassion
We listen, care and respond to the needs of the people who come to us for help.
Opportunity
We believe everyone should have access to opportunities that help them learn, grow and move forward.
Collaboration
We work with local organisations, businesses and volunteers to create lasting positive change.

Thank You To Our Funders And Partners
Thank you to our funders and partners for your continued support. Without you, the work we do and the support we provide to our community would not be possible.
