More and more everyday services are moving online, and we know that using technology isn’t always straightforward.We can help you build confidence using phones, tablets and computers, including:Getting online and using the internetSetting up and using emailCompleting online formsAccessing online servicesApplying for jobs or opportunities onlineUsing video calls and other digital toolsLearning basic digital skills at your own paceYou don’t need to be confident with technology before you come in. We’ll work through things with you patiently and at a pace that suits you.

We want Barlow Moor Community Centre to be a welcoming and accessible place for everyone.Our team can provide additional support for people with learning difficulties who may need help understanding information, completing everyday tasks or accessing services.We take the time to explain things clearly, listen to what you need and offer support in a way that works for you.

If you’re unsure where to start with a problem, come and speak to us.We may be able to help you directly or point you towards another organisation or service that can.This could include help with:Understanding letters or paperworkCompleting forms and applicationsFinding local servicesAccessing community supportSearching for information onlineSignposting to specialist organisationsFinding out what help may be available to youIf we don’t know the answer straight away, we’ll do our best to help you find someone who does.

Sometimes having someone listen can make all the difference.You’re welcome to come into the centre for a chat, whether you’re feeling lonely, worried about something or simply want to see a friendly face.You don’t need to have a specific problem or know exactly what support you need.Our community centre is here to be a welcoming, friendly and judgement-free place where people can feel connected and supported.

Our aim isn’t just to solve a problem for you.Where possible, we’ll help you develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to do more for yourself in the future.That might mean learning how to complete something online, understanding where to go for support or simply feeling more confident asking for help when you need it.
